8am start time

 

Course of fire 25 yards to 550 yards.  Paper and metal targets.  Events will be scored by shot placement and time.  Scoring will count for team and individual placement. 

Plaques will be given out to 1st to 5th place teams, best cold bore shot, best three shot group and best over all individual sniper, plus prize table.

 Course of fire is set for bolt guns, 60 rounds will be fired.   Limited up to 300 Win Mag.

Official Rules & General Information

 Shooters are personally responsible for knowing and complying with the match rules and regulations prior to competing. Participants are subject to disqualification for violation of any of the rules or regulations of the Idaho State Sniper Challenge.

 A mandatory safety briefing will be held at 7:00 am Saturday June 21, 2008.  All shooters are required to have completed and submitted a signed liability waiver and paid match fees in full prior to competing.

 The primary goal of this event is to provide a safe opportunity for military. law-enforcement, professional and civilian shooters to compete in an environment that simulates real world scenarios and challenges that test theirs skills, knowledge and equipment. Lessons learned from this event should better enable the shooters to advance their marksmanship, confidence and field-craft to meet future challenges whether they are battle, on the job or in competition.

 Match scoring will differ from course of fire to course of fire. Some targets the bullet must be 100 % in the scoring area to count maximum points. Some targets the bullet must be 50 % or more in the scoring area for maximum points. Some targets are metal any hit on metal counts for maximum points.  Each course of fire will be timed.  Each course of fire will be explained to the shooters before shooters are allowed on the firing line. Some course of fire will consist of shooting and moving. All shooters while moving during a course of fire will have an empty chamber in their gun.

 Round count for the match will be posted no later then June 1st 2008. 

 SAFETY:

For the purposes of the Idaho State Sniper Challenge the Black's Creek Range is considered a COLD RANGE

 COLD RANGE (definition):

Shooters firearms WILL REMAIN UNLOADED EXCEPT UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A MATCH OFFICIAL.  FIREARMS WILL ONLY BE LOADED ON THE FIRING LINE.

DESIGNATED SAFETY AREAS: 

That area behind the firing line. All firearms will be unloaded with the bolt back and magazines removed.

While transporting the firearm the firearm should be in a case or with the barrel pointed up or slung with the barrel point down.

 NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE: 

Shooters will be disqualified from the match for any Negligent Discharge.  Shooters will be asked to leave.

 No shooter or spectators will consume or be under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs at the match site. Any shooter found to be impaired and deemed unsafe as a result of legitimate prescription drugs may be directed to stop shooting and will be asked to leave.

 Ear  protection is mandatory for all shooters, spectators and match personnel.

 Eye protection is optional.

Any unsafe acts, with or without firearms, are grounds for immediate disqualification and the shooter will be asked to leave.

 CALIBER REQUIREMENTS:

Any center fire caliber up to 300 Win Mag and a maximum velocity for all calibers is 3300 fps – No exceptions. Velocities in excess of 3300 fps damage steel targets.  Tracer, incendiary, or armor piercing ammo is not allowed.
